The Fairfield Stags represent Connecticut's Fairfield University in NCAA Division I sports. The university has 20 different men's and women's programs, some of which include basketball, baseball, cross country, tennis, field hockey, soccer and volleyball among others. The Stags compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, but the men's lacrosse team plays in the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Fairfield University has some of the best academic scholars as well, where it has maintained some of the best student-athlete graduation rates in the country since the establishment of its athletic programs in 1947.
