The Green Bay Phoenix represent this 'cheese' city within the University of Wisconsin system. The Phoenix is also the moniker for the 16 varsity teams that compete in the NCAA's Horizon League. They play within NCAA Division I athletics and some of the programs include golf, soccer, tennis, basketball and even Nordic skiing. The most successful team that has come out of the university is the women's basketball team. From the 2008-13 season, the team has the third highest winning percentage behind powerhouse clubs Stanford and Connecticut.
