The Houston Christian Huskies, formerly known as the Houston Baptist Huskies, represents the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of Houston Christian University. The Texas school's teams compete in NCAA Division I and are members of the Great West Conference, Southland Conference, Western Athletic Conference and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Houston Baptist has been known for a variety of its men's and women's sports programs over the years, including baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer and golf. The school announced plans to begin a football program in 2013.
