Florida Gulf Coast Eagles

The fifteen varsity teams that play at Florida Gulf Coast University are known collectively as the Eagles and they compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference. In NCAA Division I, the Eagles play baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, cross country, tennis and since this is South Florida, the university also has a women's beach volleyball team. In 2013, the men's basketball team won the Atlantic Sun Conference to advance into the NCAA tournament where they proceeded further as the fifteenth seed into the 'Sweet Sixteen', only to be defeated by number three seed Florida.
