Daniel Gildenlöw has been the driving force behind Pain of Salvation, formerly called Reality, since he was just eleven years old. He chose the name "Pain Of Salvation" during a philosophical daydream in math class. Pain of Salvation reached out to the international audience with its third, and critical acclaimed, album The Perfect Element, part I. The band specializes in concept albums and its music is known to change rapidly in genre--one song can include metal, folk music, funk, pop and disco.
