Brazilian music legends Os Mutantes (English translation: the Mutants) formed originally in 1966 by the Baptista brothers, Arnaldo & Sergio, though the band has been through many lineup changes over the years. They were able to team up with prominent Brazilian musician Gilberto Gil, which boosted the band's fame and productivity. Os Mutantes has been one of the most influential tropicalia groups in existence--if you are unaware, tropicalia is Brazilian art and musical movement--and they are frequently referred to as the Brazilian Beatles.
