Lou Reed

Lou Reed was the singer, principal songwriter and guitarist for the 1960s New York group The Velvet Underground. During his time with the band, Reed pioneered various musical undertakings, including self-disclosing lyrics as well as distorted guitar and amp reverb. When he struck out as a solo musician, many were upset that he left The Velvet Underground, but as time wore on Reed has come to be known as an elder statesmen of rock who can do no wrong.
