Emerging as a prominent figure in the music industry, he first gained recognition with pop groups Simplu and Radio Killer before launching a successful solo career in 2007. Smiley has achieved significant success, boasting 14 number one singles and over 30 Top 20 hits. His contributions to music were recognized with the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Romanian Act in 2013.
