Junior Kimbrough

David "Junior" Kimbrough (1930-1998) was a blues musician and singer from Hudsonville, Mississippi whose "raw and repetitive" style was often lauded as the blues in its truest and most unadulterated form. Kimbrough began his lifelong association with the guitar and the blues as a child, and by the 1950s, he had already perfected a unique style of playing that many in the blues community found to be strangely hypnotic and heart-wrenching in its emotional content, despite its simplicity. Although he never sought the limelight, Kimbrough was often considered by even the most popular rock and blues musicians of the late 20th Century to be one of the genre's most iconic geniuses.
