Sarah Kinsley (born July 18, 2000) is an American singer-songwriter known for her alt-pop music and dedication to female production in the music industry. Raised in Connecticut and of Chinese-American descent, Kinsley’s early exposure to classical music, including piano and violin, significantly influenced her music career. She studied music theory at Columbia University, where she began producing her own music. Her debut EP, The King (2021), gained traction on TikTok and was recognized by NME as one of the top debut projects of the year. Kinsley followed up with Cypress (2022) and Ascension (2023). Her artistry is inspired by classical composers and artists like Lorde, aiming to create emotionally rich and boundary-pushing music. Kinsley’s commitment to producing her own work highlights her dedication to challenging the underrepresentation of female producers in the industry.
