He gained popularity as the bassist and songwriter for the successful Tejano band, Selena y Los Dinos, alongside his sister, Selena Quintanilla. The group released several albums including "Alpha" and "Dulce Amor," which helped solidify their status as pioneers in the Tejano music scene. After Selena's tragic death in 1995, A.B. Quintanilla III went on to form the band Kumbia Kings, blending cumbia, hip-hop, and R&B to create a unique sound. The group achieved commercial success with hits like "Shhh!" and "Azúcar." A.B. Quintanilla III later formed Kumbia All Starz, continuing to push boundaries in the Latin music industry with chart-topping singles such as "Chiquilla" and "Parece Que Va a Llover." His innovative production style and versatile musical talents have cemented his status as a respected figure in Latin music.
