Boubacar Traoré

Boubacar Traoré is a singer/songwriter and guitarist from Kayes, Mali, who also goes by the nickname Kar Kar, meaning, "the one who dribbles too much," a name he picked up as a youth playing soccer after he dribbled the ball too much. Fist coming to prominence in the early-1960s, Traoré developed a sound that blended Middle Eastern sounds with American blues styles. Though Traoré has gone through many career ups and downs over his decades long existence, he is still releasing albums and touring fairly regularly.
