Leandro Roque de Oliveira, who performs and releases music as Emicida, is a rapper from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Influenced by a number of traditional Brazilian folk styles, in addition to prominent hip-hop names from America like Mos Def, Wu-Tang Clan and The Fugees, Emicida released his debut album, O Glorioso Retorno de Quem Nunca Esteve Aqui, in 2013. Having since kept active, releasing additional LPs and maintaining a busy touring regime, Emicida has managed to distinguish himself as one of the more capable rappers on the modern Brazilian hip-hop scene.
