A$AP Rocky is the stage name of Rakim Mayers, a rapper and hip-hop artist from Harlem, New York who has risen to become one of the most promising up-and-coming rap talents of his generation. Since getting his start performing in the genre at the age of 8, A$AP Rocky honed all of his focus and attention towards music following several troubling incidents involving his father and later, his brother, who was killed near their apartment. Although little has been released by the artist thus far, what A$AP Rocky has released has been almost universally well-received.
