Samaris is a downtempo music group composed of Icelandic artists Áslaug Rún Magnúsdóttir, Þórður Kári Steinþórsson and Jófríður Ákadóttir. Formed in 2011, the three-piece outfit quickly earned acclaim as the winners of Reykjavík's Músíktilraunir songwriting competition the same year, garnering nation-wide anticipation for its first EP, Hljóma Þú. Samaris dropped its eponymous full-length album in 2013 and subsequently broke into international audiences with its ethereal electronic sound.
