FC Rapid București is a Romanian football club that features in the country's top division - Liga I. The club was founded in 1923 and initially played in the regional leagues. Over the years the team continued to improve steadily and in 1932 it earned a place in the erstwhile Divizia A (now Liga I) for the first time in its history. Since then it has been fairly successful, winning multiple domestic league and cup championships.
