Septicflesh is a symphonic death metal band from Athens, Greece that was founded in 1990. Building a characteristic sound for itself that blended elements of Gothic metal with a classical, symphonic approach, Septicflesh managed to latch onto a substantially large fan base throughout Europe. Though the group broke up in 2003, it was reformed in 2007 with a markedly different and modern sound that helped further Septicflesh's artistic credibility by demonstrating its ability to grow with the times and evolve its sound.
