Martin Messier

Known equally for his experimental audio-visual performances and his sound art installations, Martin Messier creates particularly unique work. Using old machinery and focusing on both the construction and deconstruction of rhythm, the French-Canadian artist has performed and installed his work at festivals and art shows around the world. While his best known work is probably his "Sewing Machine Orchestra" piece, Messier is also well recognized for his participation in the experimental duo La chambre des machines.
