UK production duo B12 is made up of Mike Golding and Steve Rutter, a duo that also goes under the aliases Redcell, Musicology and C'metric. The group emerged during the mid 1990s as innovators in the realm of IDM and techno, often considered second-wave techno, after Detroit's pioneering of the sound in the late 1980s. B12 were one of the first to be signed to Warp Records, a major imprint credited with exploring the possibilities of electronic music, and ultimately laying the groundwork for what is now a major music genre.
