The Chap

Tightly-wound indie pop, funky disco beats and jittery experimental rock all combine to form the unique UK project known as The Chap. The London-based band formed in 2000 and instantly aimed to create a hybrid of live and electronic instrumentation that would be at once cerebral and danceable. Even with the mishmash of disparate elements however, the group's music maintains a cohesiveness that can be heard throughout all of its well-received home-recorded albums. The Chap's hard to pin down but easy to love style has led to an ever-increasing fan base throughout the UK, as well as opportunities to remix tracks by artists such as Beck and Bloc Party.
