About
VHS or Beta is an American indie rock band currently based in Brooklyn. The group (originally from Louisville, Kentucky) formed in 1997, intent on exploring the livelier, more danceable sides of rock music. By 2004, the band had started to find some marginal success, landing its song "Night On Fire" in a couple of mainstream films and television shows, and a year later landed a slot opening for 1980s legends, Duran Duran. VHS or Beta continues to work within the confines of its dance punk meets electronic-tinged alternative rock on albums such as 2011's Diamonds and Death.
