Von Spar is a band from Cologne, Germany that blends alternative rock and punk musical sensibilities with pervasive electronic production to create a unique style of music that is well suited for Germany's multifaceted music scene. Founded in 2003, the group released its debut album in 2004 to little fanfare. However, with the band's self-titled sophomore effort, Von Spar took a drastically more experimental turn, twisting a few songs into 20 minutes long Krautrock jams, which was lauded and praised by critics.
