Manchester-based singer and multi-instrumentalist LoneLady (a.k.a. Julie Campbell) is a one of the few women actually giving the UK's male-dominated post-punk history a run for its money. At once dark and brooding, Campbell delights with a disarming pop sensibility. Her debut album for the inimitable Warp Records label is titled Nerve Up, and features a collection of electronic-infused rock and pop gems worthy of a night out or alone, whichever comes first.
