In 2008 Philadelphia based singer Santigold was dubbed an "artists to watch" by several prominent American music publications. Her unique music--an interesting blend of new wave, electronica and indie rock - has won legions of fans over and after several prominent artists have asked her to open up for them on their North American tours. By doing this during her formative years, she expanded her fan base and brought in people who might not typically listen to her style of music.
