MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza is one of the contenders of the Polska Liga Koszykówki (PLK). The team was founded in 1992 and spent its early years battling it out in the nation's third-tier league. In 2008 it was promoted to the second division. Its great run of form continued over the next few seasons and in 2015, it became a top division club for the for the first time in its history.
