Based in Chiba City, JEF United Chiba is a football club that competes in the J2 League which is the second-tier of professional football in Japan. It was formed in 1946 and it plays its home matches at the Fukuda Denshi Arena. It was formerly known as Furukawa Electric SC and it adopted its current identity in 2005. It has won several honors most notably the Asian Club Championship, JSL Division 1, Emperor’s Cup, J.League Cup and the Japanese Super Cup.
