About
Växjö Lakers is a Swedish ice hockey team that features in the top-tier Swedish Hockey League (SHL). The team was founded in 1997 after the dissolution of Växjö HC. It began its journey in the fourth division and after a string of great performances, it was promoted to the SHL in 2011. The team's built on its success after securing a place amongst the nations giants and in 2015, it won its first ever league championship.
