The Sacramento River Cats is an American minor league baseball team playing in the Pacific Coast League and is the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Founded in 1978, the franchise has had ties to several MLB organizations since its inception and became affiliated with the Athletics in 1999. The team won its first two PCL championships in back-to-back years in 2003 and 2004. Sacramento hosts it home games at Raley Field.
