About
HC Sparta Praha is one of the ice hockey giants in Czech Republic. While it was founded in 1903 as a bandy club, it transitioned into ice hockey nine years later and established itself as one of the most successful teams in the country. Members of the Czech Extraliga, it won its first domestic championship in 1953 and successfully defended it the following season. Since then it has gone on to claim several more titles including the Spengler Cup and the Tatra Cup.
