French Films

French Films is an odd name for a band from Finland, but that didn't stop five Finnish indie rockers from claiming the name when they formed a band in 2010. French Films makes a catchy blend of surf rock and new wave that quickly attracted attention after the band posted home-recorded demos on its myspace page. The band's EP, Golden Sea, was critically-acclaimed for its rock and roll sensibilities and served as the perfect appetizer for the band's 2011 debut album, Imaginary Future. The album, with both sunny and rainy tones, and vocal performances from several lead singers, explores themes of life, youth and growing older.
