Dos

About

Dos is a musical duo comprised of dual bassists Mike Watt (of Minutemen) and Kira Roessler (of Black Flag). Formed in 1985, shortly after Watt's musical partner in Minutemen, D. Boon, was killed in a tragic car accident. Roessler provoked Watt to play together because she felt Watt needed to keep playing the bass and keep up his chops as he was coping and dealing with the loss of his friend and band mate. Creating music solely with their two basses, Watt and Roessler have released a few albums over the years as well as played numerous shows, but have never carried their Dos project into serious musical waters--instead, opting to keep the group as a collaborative effort between two good friends.
