Lahti Pelicans is an ice hockey team that represents the city of Lahti, Finland in the SM-liiga. The team was originally founded as Viipurin Reipas and through its history it has been through numerous ups and downs in the form of name and ownership changes, financial setbacks and relegations. It took on the Lahti Pelicans moniker in 1996 and since then it has added the Energie Steiermark Trophy and the Tatra Cup to its silverware collection.
