Drake Bulldogs

The Drake Bulldogs hail from the university of the same name in Des Moines, IA and they represent more than 15 different varsity teams, some of which include basketball, softball, rowing, tennis and volleyball. Drake has been playing organized sport since 1893 and in fact, the famous Drake Relay is one of the oldest, continuously running events in collegiate athletics. Since 1910, the Bulldogs have hosted as well as competed in this annual international track and field event. The university participates with most of its teams in the Missouri Valley Conference, but the football team competes in the Pioneer Football League and the women's rowing team in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
