FC Carl Zeiss Jena is a German football club that competes in the Regionalliga Nordost. Founded in 1903 by members of the Carl Zeiss AG factory, it was once a dominated the erstwhile DDR-Oberliga. Former winners of the DDR-Oberliga and the FDGB-Pokal, the fortunes of the team changed with the reunification of Germany, as faced multiple relegations between 1990 to 1994. Since then it has been a consistent force in the lower divisions, but is yet to play in the top tier Bundesliga.
