The Columbia Lions represents the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of Columbia University in New York City. The university is a member of the NCAA's Division I and competes in the Ivy League. Columbia fields 29 co-ed, men's and women's programs in sports such as baseball, basketball, cross country, field hockey, lacrosse, football, rowing, tennis and soccer. Notable alumni to have come from Columbia include Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig (MLB) and Chris Gomez (MLB).
