The Fighting Sioux is the moniker of the sports teams of the University of North Dakota. Competing in the Big Sky Conference of the NCAA Division I, the school sponsors 21 teams including women's ice hockey, volleyball, soccer and basketball and men's football, cross country and tennis. The school is well-known for both its men's and women's hockey teams, which compete in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference andWestern Collegiate Hockey Association respectively.
