An NCAA Division I athletic squad since the turn of the millennium, the Gardner–Webb Runnin' Bulldogs are integral members of the Big South Conference and actively participates in more than twenty-three different varsity sports, excelling greatly in football where they were able to win two Conference titles. Based out of Boiling Springs, North Carolina, their home grounds include the multipurpose Ernest W. Spangler Stadium, Paul Porter Arena, and John Henry Moss Stadium.
