The side project of hip-hop producer rjd2--best known for writing the Mad Men television theme song--and Aaron Livingston, Philadelphia-based soul singer, Icebird blends the two musicians' characteristic stylings with a variety of other influences, making the band impossible to pigeonhole. In one song, the duo spans everything from vintage soul to electronic samples to surf guitar to garage rock, tied together with surprising cohesion. Now based out of Los Angeles, the duo has worked steadily to release its debut album in October of 2011.
