While the Violent Scaredy Cats might be based out of Amiens, France, the four-piece sounds more like a band forged in London's indie scene. Evidently fans of the UK's post-punk revival popularized by the Arctic Monkeys, Violent Scaredy Cats creates anthemic, angular garage rock with English lyrics that are often acerbic in nature. With a front man who grew up in Coventry, England, it's easy to see why the group has a distinctly British flair, but the band has built up its primary fan base throughout France--an impressive feat, as the French public generally shies away from non-French lyrics.
