Often cited as the first Australian thrash metal band, Mortal Sin was formed in 1985, and though it's gone through periods of disbandment and lineup changes, the five-piece has ultimately survived as a successful act for nearly three decades. After catching the attention of UK label heads for Phonogram Records shortly after forming, the Sydney-based group quickly gained widespread international attention, which it still enjoys today, thanks in part to its head-banging glam live show.
