Sean Posila and Jordan Caulfield, two friends from the New York-Boston Area, make up High Pop. Making a highly stylized form of garage pop, the duo's music is a blatant reflection of the cult of youth--so it's fitting that the they write and record all their songs in a basement. Often described as the Beach Boys on crack, or some other sort of high powered amphetamines, High Pop does not make conventional, radio friendly pop music, but a fuzzy and rowdy lo-fi version of the genre. High Pop's 2011 album, Hippie Speed Ball, is full of vibrating vocals and reverberating guitar riffs, creating waves of boisterous, vintage surf rock music.
