Pikachunes

Pikachunes began after Miles McDougall fell off of his skateboard and fractured his ulna, leaving his unable to play his drum set. A student of Jazz performance on drums, after his accident McDougall turned to a drum machine and a laptop to create music, simultaneously taking on the stage name Pikachunes. His background of Jazz is present in his electropop music, which features 1970s analog bass lines, only one or two snyths, vocal harmonies, and disco beats. His minimalism and no-frills style of electronic music set him apart from conventional house and techno DJs in the electronic music scene. His debut album, S/T, released in 2011, was followed by an east coast tour of the United States with fellow pop musician and New Zealand born Princess Chelsea.
