The solo project of Chelsea Nikkel, Princess Chelsea is reminiscent of 1960s chamber pop music. Her label, Lil' Chief Records, described her 2011 debut album, Lil' Golden Book, as a cross between an old Disney movie sound track and a performance of Les Miserables in space. The first single off the album, "Cigarette Duet," is a cheeky song with direct and witty lyrics, shimmery guitar solos, and an undeniable pop undertone. Princess Chelsea proceeded her first album with an east coast US tour with Pikachunes.
