RPWL is a progressive rock band that was formed in 1997 in Freising, Germany. Although it was initially founded as a Pink Floyd tribute band, the group soon began to write its own music and eventually released its debut album, God Has Failed, in 2000. With each album, RPWL developed a more confident sound that relied less and less on its influences. By the time the band released its tenth studio album, Beyond Man and Time, in 2012, it had collected an international following.
