Pure X is an psychedelic pop outfit based in Austin, TX. Initially formed as Pure Ecstasy, the three-piece band was forced to change its name due to a San Francisco-based project that had already copyrighted the moniker. After releasing a handful of singles as Pure X, the band dropped its debut album Pleasure, in 2011, capturing a sound that bridges shoegaze, grunge and rock and roll with rippling textures of blown out guitars and plenty of feedback.
