UK-based group The Mountaineering Club melds ambient classical and instrumental post-rock to impressive results, calling to mind the likes of Sigur Ros and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Headed by Tom Adams, the collective sometimes performs as a four-piece band and sometimes incorporates an extensive backing orchestra, but always succeeds in building lovely, expansive soundscapes that draw every audience member in.
