Hailing from Birmingham, England, the British band, The Beat (known in North America as The English Beat), is a two-tone ska band from the late 1970s. The band knows no particular genre; the music is a fusion of ska, punk rock, pop and reggae. The Jamaican saxophonist brings the distinctly instrumental reggae aspect that the band is famous for.
