The voice of Grammy Award winner Ana Maria Martinez is hailed as one of the most beautiful voices of Latin America. Born in Puerto Rico, she has traveled the world to grace the stages everywhere from San Francisco to The Netherlands. She debuted with the Metropolitan Opera during the 2005 to 2006 opera season, where she revealed her sultry yet effortless voice as Micaela in Carmen, a performance that earned her critical acclaim. She won the Latin Grammy for "Best Classical Album" in 2001, along with the other contributing vocalists and the Orquesta Sinfonica de Madrid, for Issac Albéniz's Merlin. In the 2009 to 2010 opera season, Martinez's most notable performances were with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Domincan Republic, as well as the BBC Symphony at Barbican Hall. Having contributed to over two dozen albums, Martinez is a widely recognizable soprano presence in the operatic world measured in pure talent.
