Playing the blues was in Michael Burks' blood. His grandfather was an acoustic Delta blues player and his father was blues bassist, who toured with several of the day's notable bluesmen. Raised amongst the rootsy style of music left a lasting impression on young Burks and as he grew up, a guitar was constantly in his hands. As he honed his skill, it quickly became apparent that Burks had skill that was uncontrollable. Soon, he started a group and began touring the country and until his death in 2012, Michael Burks was one of the more impressive six-string blues guitarists of his generation.
