Markéta Irglová is a singer/songwriter, musician and actress from New York City by way of the Czech Republic who is perhaps best known as a part of the Irish folk rock duo, The Swell Season. Her work with the duo, along with Irish singer/songwriter Glen Hansard, includes one album as well as the film Once, which starred both members of the band and spawned the Academy Award-winning song "Falling Slowly." Having since left the duo to pursue a solo career, Irglová has already achieved in her early 20s what many musicians strive for their entire lives.
